Dalma wildlife sanctuary is about 112 km. from the capital city Ranchi, and driving distance of 15 km. from the steel city Jamshedpur. The Dalma Hills are located at a height of 3,000 ft above sea level with dense forests and Subarnarekha River flowing beside it . This wildlife sanctuary covers a wide area of about 193.5077 square kilometers. The area of forest is densely covered with tall trees, wild shrubs and bushes of  different varieties  presenting a view of green carpet spread on the surface. A look from the mountaintop at the city is so visually appealing at the night that it looks as if millions of stars twinkling. The Elephants, Sloth Deer, Barking Deer, Peacocks, Giant Squirrels, Wild Bears, Mouse Deer, Indian Foxes, Rabbits, Mongoose, Monkeys, and Langurs are  primary animals found in Dalma. this sanctuary comprises many ponds of different size where animals come to drink water. hide outs have been made near  the pounds for the ease of taking photographs and observing the animals. closely situated watch tower is important for fire security and area observation. A number of temples are there across the sanctuary as a pilgrimage attraction like   Lord Shiva, Lord hanumana and godest dalma temple etc. This wildlife sanctuary has Forest Department rest houses, Eco huts and Bamboo hut for accommodating travelers.
